Browse the task list to find something interesting to contribute to
If you’re running a project on sourceforge, or a free software / open source project anywhere else, you can post requests for functions that you need
The idea is to give people an easy way to get involved with your project, and to let people browse for tasks that they find interesting. Try to find a self-contained, but interesting task that will provide a fun introduction to your project.
You should be prepared to provide help and support to those taking you up on the request, to help them set up a development environment so that they can compile your code, and answer any questions they may have on technical style or details.
